Freedom Coin
============
A quantum-resistant proof-of-work cryptocurrency. Fixed supply, no pre-mine, no masters.
Sound money. Quantum proof. No masters.
Freedom Coin is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency written from scratch in Rust,
built to be sound money that can outlast the arrival of quantum computers. It
has a fixed supply of 10,000,000 coins, no company or controlling party, and
rules fixed at the genesis block that no one can change. Every coin is mined
on the open network, starting from the very first block.
Highlights
----------
- Post-quantum from genesis. Dilithium5 (NIST FIPS 204) signatures, Kyber1024
(NIST FIPS 203) network encryption, and 512-bit hashing throughout.
- Fixed supply of 10,000,000 coins. No pre-mine, no founder allocation, not a
single coin.
- Mined on ordinary computers. Memory-hard proof-of-work (Argon2d, 64 MiB)
keeps mining open to normal CPUs; no ASICs, no farms.
- Transparent. A fully public ledger that anyone can audit, with no hidden
state.
- No masters. No administrative keys and no central authority; the core rules
cannot be changed by anyone.
- Open and reproducible. MIT licensed; compile it yourself and confirm the
binaries match.
Build from source
-----------------
Requires a recent Rust toolchain.
cargo build --release
This produces the programs in target/release/:
frqc the launcher (dashboard and simple controls)
frqc-node the full node and miner
frqc-wallet the command-line wallet
frqc-wallet-gui the local graphical wallet
Start mining
------------
The simplest path is the launcher. Run it and press 1 to create a wallet and
begin mining:
./target/release/frqc
From the command line, the guided setup does the same thing:
./target/release/frqc-node --setup
The Mining Guide covers the full command-line method, pool mining, and wallet
recovery.
See the chain
-------------
With your node running, open these in an ordinary browser (not the Tor
Browser, which cannot reach localhost):
http://127.0.0.1:9932/dashboard live node and mining status
http://127.0.0.1:9932/explorer browse blocks, transactions, and addresses
Documentation
-------------
- Whitepaper — the design, the cryptography, the economics, and the honest
open questions.
- Mining Guide & Specifications — set up a node, mine, recover a wallet, and
the full spec list.
- Ecosystem Guide — for stewards, miners, mining pools, and exchanges.
- FAQ — common questions answered plainly.
- The Constitution — the immutable rules, whose hash is sealed in the genesis
block.
Verify, don't trust
-------------------
Freedom Coin is built to be checked:
- Reproducible build. Compile the source and confirm your binaries match the
published ones.
- Fair launch. The genesis block creates no spendable coins; every coin is
mined in public from block one.
- The rules. The Constitution's hash is embedded in the genesis block, so the
rules the network enforces are verifiably the ones that were published.

Security
--------
If you find a vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly through the
project's security contact: Freedom_Coin_Contact@proton.me. Please do not open a public
issue for a security problem before it has been addressed.
Official channels
------------------
Hosting platforms, websites, and any single link can go down or be pulled
without warning. If that ever happens to any other Freedom Coin channel,
this Nostr identity is the one place to check for the real, current status
and where to find everything else:
npub1hssvsclv03gchp746wydtkcgp87mapuwfvd2uu4pdfuptec9du0qj0n8pr
It has no single point of failure: it is a cryptographic identity broadcast
across many independent relays, not an account hosted by any one company or
server, so it cannot be silently taken down the way a website or repository
can.

Verifying releases
-------------------
Every published binary is signed with the project's release key. Verify a
download before running it:
gpg --verify frqc-node.exe.asc frqc-node.exe
A "Good signature" from the fingerprint below confirms the file is genuine
and unmodified since it was signed.
You can also verify the network itself. The mainnet genesis block hash is:
861778e472a4e5abf1b61d167dd0254de082feb381dd8e141db9e2236a21a29225a3fd51f6b5dfad0b74d06dfaca8be79d82a99f595faae694fcc52d19f94453
The founding message committed into that genesis block — its hash is what's
actually on-chain, published here in full so you can confirm it matches —
reads:
"Every ledger before this one assumed the machines that could break it
would never arrive. This one was built for the day they do. Freedom
Coin. Sound money. Quantum proof. No masters. Constitution hash:
5413f147f0f039d3e0247c9be789c534edeea2191b64f401e6bdd72dfd16333c7b21f1fa3939c4b39b4dc8f43b55781a397c4aefd05679bdbee65e60dcb97acb"

Contributing and stewardship
----------------------------
Freedom Coin has no masters, so its future rests with the people who run it,
mine it, and build on it. Contributions, independent implementations, mining
pools, and a volunteer stewardship committee are all welcome. The Ecosystem
Guide explains what the project already provides to each.
